Project meetings

Kick-off meeting Brussels (February 5th, 2007)

From 6 projects we need to become an action. So, we are a cluster-activity...

  • "no presentation of projects is needed - you have all read the other project descriptions..."
  • Contractual issues: all contacts AND projects start on January 1st.
  • Co-operation issues:
- for "technical" topics: you can pick a project (in our case: LexiPation)
- for dissemination: all six projects should work together

For us, only LexiPation may be of interest. The others have other terrains of action. It is rather obvious though that the other projects have a much more documented methodology approach. This is not really compatible with our style of operations, so it would be better to leave this stuff up to them.

There is (?) a table available with the different activities and the timing, to see the overlap and possible connection points.

  • There needs to be a contact in parliament who is interested and who we can keep informed about ALL the projects - an "advocate". For Estonia, this will probably not too problematic, depending of course on how close contacts we have.
If possible, we should also brief the Estonian MEP's on this, via the name of eGA.

Involving politicians requires of course political balance (make sure it is non-partisan), involvement (the relevant committee?) and a different set of documentation / information.

The same is true for the regional level.

Names should be disseminated, but not published.

We need to make a list what level could be possibly interested in the project, and perhaps what institutions in Europe and Estonia.

  • Websites
There is a common website available: http://www.eu-participation.eu/

We need to think

1) what information / functionalities we want on the "public site"
2) what we want of our "private work-site"
3) how we organise sending information from one to another site (RSS?)

We should look if basecamp is easier to work with than PBWiki...

For the portal site: mail Dirk-Jan@Leibnizcenter.org

  • Dissemination
we need to disseminate

a) our existence

There will be a template to re-write the one-pagers. After that, there will be a press-release on the six projects together (expressed in a political way).

b) what we do

Have a stand and/or presentation at mayor events (e-Participation conference, Manchester conference, e-Democracy 0-7, ...)
